'I touched the TV screen and prayed along with the priest... and Hannah started getting better' -- By SIMMY JOSHY

Just give Him a chance to act
My five-year old daughter Hannah used to suffer a lot from wheezing, or 'sibilant rhonchi' in medical terminology. We had spent several sleepless nights when our little girl faced breathing difficulties.

 Well, that's history now.
My dearest daughter has recovered a great deal. In fact, she's recovering day by day. There's a small secret behind this recovery. I would rather call it a miracle. I used to watch Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in a Christian television channel. One day, when Hannah was suffering from wheezing, I saw the priest lifting the monstrance which displays the consecrated Eucharistic host, and I touched the TV screen and prayed along with the priest. Then I went to my daughter, put my hand on her and prayed. Hannah got immediate relief. I did the same thing the next day.
Lo and behold, Hannah started getting better. Thank you My Lord for your great mercy.
It is the faith in the Almighty God that fills us with hope, joy and happiness, even during the times of sufferings. Faith needs to grow from the level in which we believe in the existence of God to greater levels of experiencing the Almighty in our daily life situations.
Just give Him a chance to act.
It would be hypocritical to say that “I know that Lord will act” and keep on worrying for the cause. If you trust God to intervene in your daily life situations, sufferings, burdens, failures, pains and everything, we need to give our worries to the Lord and start rejoicing in the Lord. Lord is waiting to intervene in our real-life situations, no matter how simple or complex it is. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Pet. 5: 7 NIV).
This is indeed difficult to practice as our worldly nature continues to haunt us into thinking about our tyrannies and compel us to live miserably. Of course, that would be double standards for a believer. If you believe that Lord is present in us and in all our life situations, we could put up a very peaceful mind even in the midst of great sufferings, by His Grace. This is what the scripture says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:6-7 NIV).
Read, understand and analyse each word from this quotation. You're amazing my Lord.
Our dear God expects us, his believers, to experience the peace he has promised us, at all times. That is, we are freed from the troubles and tribulations even when we are physically in the midst of it. Thoughts about this freedom and inner peace are indeed very refreshing to all including me.
God expects us to develop good relationship with him, which needs to be renewed on a daily basis. That is, the personal relationship with God also needs to grow further through faith. Like any other relationship our bond with the Lord can grow only through understanding him more and through establishing right levels of communication with the Lord. This is the key.
No doubt, reading the word of God or scriptures in fact enhances our understanding of the Lord and his capabilities. Understanding and comprehending Holy Scriptures will enable us to mature in our faith.
In our faith journey, Lord will teach us more and more, give us lot of insights, through which our soul and mind would be empowered.  “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” (2 Tim 1: 12 NIV). That is, our faith in God provides us freedom and confidence to be with him. Hannah's wheezing problem was a great learning experience for me.
As we grow in faith we can experience greater manifestations of His presence in our lives. We could experience joy, happiness, love and peace if we could remain in union with the Lord through faith. Faith makes us bold and enables us to do things, which we would never have done otherwise.  “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4: 13 NIV).
There are loads and tonnes of gains and goodness a person of faith in Lord can possess. So why do you and me delay our share?
