New Catholic Charismatic television channel set to take North America by storm
On April 27, two former popes (John Paul 2nd and John 23rd) will be declared saints by Vatican. On the same day, another historic event will take place. Shalom Television will launch its Catholic services in North America, covering the US and Canada. It's not a mean achievement for a small Syro-Malabar Catholic group from a developing country like India to launch a television channel in the most advanced country in the world.
One day when I was passing by a religious place of another faith, I saw a man prostrating before the statue of
a ‘god man’ who lives in another part of the country. I was amused by this
ardent expression of his faith without any inhibition. But I thought all his
faith was in vain.
The countdown has begun. In 44 days, the Roman Catholic Church will create history. Pope John Paul 2nd and Pope John 23rd will be declared saints in an epochal event on April 27, 2014. The canonisation ceremony in Vatican will be attended by the two living Popes: Francis, who will officiate, and Pope Benedict, who retired last year.
Pope Francis recently sent a video message to Word of Faith leader Kenneth Copeland, urging a reconciliation between Catholics and Charismatics. The video was sent through Anglican Episcopal Bishop Tony Palmer who played it before a group of cheering followers at the Kenneth Copeland Ministries meeting. This video starts with a message from Bishop Palmer. After Pope's message, Copeland prayed for Pope which was videotaped and sent back to Pope.

It was time for Holy Mass in a Mumbai church
on a Sunday evening. The parish priest came to the altar but he was disturbed
to see the empty chairs and benches in the front. For, the vast majority of
people were sitting in the last rows of the spacious church a la waiting to
watch a film in a cinema hall.
